I dont get legendary extending ending in halo 3 plz some one explain it to me?

really all that happened was that the |\/|@574 chief fell out of the ship and took refuge in a piece of what was once the ring. Cortana went with him, and the chief started to sleep in the cryo chamber on the piece of the ring. Although the chief survived, people who remained on the planet (earth?!?) thought that he died. and in game informer Bungie studios(R)
said that Halo 3 might not be the last installment in the series C=

anyway, the ending just shows old clips of past halo games and the reguler ending

yes, Bungie did a cliff hanger so they could milk Halo for all it's worth in the future. Instead of ending the game with dignity and closure, they had to end it like that because all they care about is $$$. Anyway, that planet is possibly Onyx, where other spartans like MC are being trained... Spartan III's
