I Need To Know Something Before I buy Halo 3 ODST?

I'm about to buy Halo 3 ODST off Ebay and i wanted to know if you need the original halo 3 game to play the maps on the second disk of ODST.Cause i let a friend borrow mine and I don't want to buy it all over again

no you get the disk which is all maps and you dont need the halo 3 disk. however you cant play campaign. but good thing is that you can play all the playlist that others cant play. btw ODST sucks
