while playing halo 3 we can pick up human skulls. what is its use? is it just used to punch or is it a find all kinda thing?

The skulls in Halo 3 are there for you to turn on for certain perks when completing missions in Halo 3. I know that the gold skulls increase your score when you are playing a mission but these skulls are usually more difficult to find and are well-hidden. If I remember rightly, I think if you hover over a skull it does tell you what perks they have if you activate them.
