Is finding a game on Halo 3 supposed to take this long?

I'm only level 4, so there may not be many players at my level, but it takes a ridiuclous amount of time to find a game. I'm in the team slayer lobby, and it still takes 2-3 full minutes to find a game, and then most of the time it finds 7 other players and then restarts the search for no apparant reason... i've tried looking for games 'quickest' and 'close skill range', but it is slow either way. Is there some setting that I need to change?

No, just not many people are at your level, or not many people are online. Lots of people are always on rumble pit though.

Yeah you probably need to unblock a port on your router, how to do it depends entirely on your specific router, and off hand I don't know which port to unblock, google it, I'd imagine it won't be that hard to find. Also check that your matchmaking setting is set to "quickest" rather that some of the other options, that should speed things up. Also possibly it depends on what game type your attempting to play. Some of the less popular ones take ages to find games, but others such as ranked team deathmatch and slayer take seconds.
