Is it possible to play a 16-player game on Halo 3?

I've been looking around and all the games that I see always max out at 8 players. Isn't this game supposed to have a max of 16 players?

I was wondering if my connection is too low or if they changed the limit or something. I also saw something about having to download the Halo Heroic Map Pack or something. I downloaded that already. (I don't have the big team slayer option on my playlists.)

I just want someone to tell me how to get into a 16 player game if it's even possible. Thanks ahead for helping!

yes you can play a custom game with your friends if you have x box live or you can enter large ranked match with a large party.
