My xbox 360 isnt reading my xbox 360 games?

it just says open disc at the bottom.

There has been a 30% recall rate on the new Xbox, mine included. They have a toll-free number that you can call and get free replacement and extended warranty, especially if it was one of their first generation consoles. A lot had to do with overheating in the motherboard, causing the typical "three red rings" around the power button, but i've heard of the case youre experiencing also when the disc refuses to read.

It is possiable that the lazer for reading the disc is bad.
