What do i need to start playing Halo 3?

I'm starting to really like video games and halo 3 is a game that i want to start playing. what's the difference between xbox live and xbox 360? which one do i need? Help me to get started, lol!

And yes i'm a girl who is not to familiar with the video gaming world=)

That is awesome that you are interested in video games. Xbox 360 is the video game system you will need ( pro or elite model ), xbox live is the online multiplayer program that it runs with the system. First you purchase your system, than you establish your internet connections. are trying to wirelessly connect your system or can you plug direct into the 360. xbox 360 was not built with a wi-fi built in so if you want a wireless connection you have to buy the xbox 360 reciever that is sold for 100 dollars. if you are able to plug an ethernet cable into your 360 and do a direct connection that accessory is not needed. once your xbox is on and you have an internet connection you can follow the on screen or manual instructions on how to create an account with xbox live. you will make a gamertag that you will be named as when you play. xbox live is not free, you can pay monthly, every 3 months or yearly. you can buy a xbox live card at any store that sells games or you can add a credit card to your account and have done automatically every month. Quick run down again. buy your system, connect your internet, create an xbox live account ( through the 360 system ) and purchase a 1 month account to start. you can now play online with friends. if you need more help let me know and i can assist

Awsome haha, but first you need an xbox 360 gaming console to even play games. Thatll run you about $200 at least (unless you get one on black friday at wal-mart for $100). Next you need the game itself which you can probably get a good used copy at gamestop or something for a fraction of the price. Finally you only need to buy a subcription to xbox live gold if you plan on playing with other people online competively, which just doubles the hours of playability and adds to the fun in my opinion. thattl run you about another $50 but that is all you basically need to get started

i play halo 3. its really fun
so first off, xbox 360 is the game console which is the xbox itself where you put the game in. and xbox live is something you pay for to play with people from wherever online.
if you wanna play online, which is fun get xbox live. idk how much it is but yeah.

Get an xbox 360 to start, I would recommend for you the ARCADE console edition. It comes with everything you need, as you are still new to video games.

When you get your xbox, make sure you read the manual on how to set up everything properly. Get your controller and halo 3 and your ready to play!

Lmao Xbox Live is the online service for Xbox 360. You don't NEED Xbox Live and if you try to play Halo 3 with zero fps (First Person Shooter) skills online...well you'll be sadly disappointed cause the majority of people on there have been playing since Halo 1. you need xbox360, but you could get xbox live and it lets you play online with other people. and a xbox360 would cost 200 dollars and the xbox live there is 2 options you can get wireless which cost about 130 100 for adapter and and 30 for router. or you could get wired which cost about 30 dollars for the Ethernet cord and also you have to be close to a computer because you need to hook up the ethernet cord to the computer.
