what maps do i need for halo 3 xbox live?? please help!?

hey guys,
i downloaded the heroic map pack for halo 3 live and the only games i can play is like the two week special one like griffball and it wont let me play any hardcore or anything else...could some one please send me which game modes require which maps...THX!!! ten points to best anser
yes but im looking to see what modes you need heroic maps for and what modes I need legendary maps for also if you need that other extra map that you can get i forget what its called

dont u need to download the legendary map pack? i think theres a heroic map pack and a legendary map pack...maybe thats why?? im not sure i havent played h3 since it came out...i liked the campaign more then the online play.
