Whats the Best Weapon for Online on Halo 3?

When i go over to my Friends, He always win's gets more kill's than me and he uses pretty much the same weapon as i do,

What weapon should I Aim on Using...?

Battle Rifles

good for long and short range

aim for head

Powerfull=Sniper

Close rang=shotty

My personal fav is battle rifle really good with manuvures andf what not
