Why cant I pick up the skulls in Halo 3?

I have picked up the black eye skull, but every skull that i have seen after that i cannot pick up. I cannot even move it with a gernade. any ideas?

 

[Objective HATE]

start each mission from the beginning make sure its on normal heroic or legendary. make sure you kill all the enemies before going towards the skulls.

get a friend to pick it up on story.

go play with a friend on story and make them pick it up then u should get that skull
