Why do people love Halo 3?

It's a good game but people treat the series like its the best ever. Do so many people like it because of the story? Personally I find Gears of war much better.

because it is the sweetest and most fun game ever, obviously you havnt played it. And its not the story its the multiplayer, the best online multiplayer ever

Because Master Chief is so dreamy...

Personally, I love Halo 3 because of the storyline and cinematics. The graphics and improved multi-person game-play certainly don't hurt. Don't get me wrong, though - I love Gears of War as well. Halo is interesting because it feels... epic... and the fact that it's a trilogy lends more to that sensation.

i think the reason people love halo 3 so much is because it offers so many different thing s to play online. there is a large variety of things to do even though the story line is kind of boring the rest of the gameplay makes up for it

Because the absence of a personal life makes the fantasy of the game seem great.
