Halo 2 Multiplayer Help?

So i was recently hanging out with some of my guy friends and we ended up playing Halo2 in the multiplayer mode. Lets face it, i am horrible at playing. But i think it is super fun to play and i want to get better at it before we play again next week. I get the general idea of the game but my person always goes so slow. What can i do to make him go faster? ANY tips would be helpful. About anything related to the multiplayer mode. Like how to kill people better, or how to hide from people, sneak up on people. etc.

Practice, practice, practice! I've been playing for about 4 months now and I have gotten way better. We should play together sometime. You can download this free service called Xbox connect. That's what I have. My gt is GamerGirly366 and my in game gt is XxAngelxX. Go to http://www.xbconnect.com to check it out.

I've been playing Halo 2 online since it came out over 2 years ago. You will get used to the fact that your character will run slow. The best weapon in the game is the Battle Rifle. Usually 4 shots to the head will kill your opponent but it will take lots of practice to get down. You can sneak up on people by holding the crouch button. Your opponents will not see you on the radar. If you have any more questions feel free to send me an email.

Ok I've played this game for years, so I know the game pretty well. The halo engine (how the game is run) is pretty slow, so moving around cannot be increased, if you want to look around quicker i suggest you change your look sensitivity, around 5 should be enough, be careful you dont want to go higher than 5 or 6 because it then becomes too hard to get head shots.
There are a few things that will help improve your game. Firstly its a gd idea to know some good weapon combo's, one of the most profilic Is the Noob combo, pick up a plasma pistol (green) and a Battle rifle (BR), charge up the plasma gun and fire it and it will home onto an enemy player, once it hits them it takes their shield completely down, then quickly switch to your BR and shoot them in the head, 1 shot and they're dead. If you can master this then you have a quick way to kill ppl. However a combo I like to use simply involves grenading' then BRing. Through a grenade at/near someone, then just pumle them in the head with the BR - the BR is prob the best gun in the game, and once you can get head shots you'll pick up a lot of kills, especially in FFA where you can kill steal a lot.
Another good weapon is the sword with BR or sniper, never run around with the sword out, because then your enemy will shoot and run away from you, you should get close to him and at the last minute change weapons and lunge.
Always try and get a combination of long/mid range and short range weapons.

Example:

Shotty/Sword - BR/Sniper
Plasma pistol - BR (Noob combo)
Plasma Rifle/SMG (duel wield)
Pistol/smg (duel Wield)

Find a combo that you like using then learn the maps and find where the weapons spawn.
If your playing team game, knowing the maps is crucial, you must find out where the weapons spawn, but more importantly where to set up as a team. Example in Lockout you should try and set up by the sniper tower, have one guy sniping , and the others protecting the sniper from invading players.
If your playing all on all (FFA), try and stay alive, BR is your friend here, try and kill steal when two other players are slaying it out, try and get head shots on them both. Sniper can be effective also if you know where to set up with it.

If you need other info I suggest you watch some videos off www.halo-pro.com , watch what the pros do, and try and imitate there gameplay. Have fun!

well in your player settings you can increase your look sensitivity--this will help you look left and right faster---also aim for the head---head shots kill faster---play the actual game---just get comfortable with the controls and play mode----also in mu-ti player---by yourself---learn the levels so you know where to go and where to get the best location to try to hide---also a sticky boom to someone and they are dead--let to throw them

Just practice a lot and you will get it. Video games is like sports, you just need to practice. The only thing though: sports keep you in shape, Xbox doesn't, so balance it out.

Your Foes
Grunts: These low level Covenant soldiers aren't good for very much. Well, they're excellent for testing the stopping power of your weapons or calibrating your targeting system, but not much else. The key to taking down Grunts is, well, shooting them. Repeatedly. Or just once in the head. If there are a lot of them congregating in one place, take out the Elite that should be nearby. The Grunts will freak out and scatter, allowing you the chance to take them out at your leisure

Jackals: These guys are best recognized by their large energy shield, which protects their frail body from attack. While they are usually standing still when you come upon them, they can move fast if they have to. The best way to take out a Jackal is to either use a plasma weapon to destroy their shield before killing them, or use a high powered human weapon to knock them back, exposing their bodies for a clean follow-up shot. Melee attacks also work extremely well, especially if you fire at them while charging toward them. These guys can snipe, too, so beware!

Drones: One of the new enemies in the game, these flying creatures are very fast, and usually travel in groups. You'll be able to hearing their telltale buzzing as they approach, so keep your ears open. They also have the ability to cling to walls and fire at you, but this is actually to your advantage, since it's easier to take them out when not moving. A few quick shots from any weapon will fell these guys, and you'll see them fall from the sky when they're dead.

Elites: If you've heard heard their familiar "Wort! Wort! Wort!" call, you know who these guys are. The Elites are basically the equal of a Spartan, with the same powerful shielding and excellent weapon skill. They usually brandish Plasma Rifles, and on harder difficulties will hold two of them. The more powerful of the Elites (Black, White, and Gold) will frequently use active camo and plasma swords, so beware! Your best bet for taking out an Elite is to snipe them from afar or stick a plasma grenade to them.

Hunters: Closer to a mobile tank than a traditional solider, the Hunters are gigantic creatures who move a lot faster than you'd initially think. They have a new weapon in Halo 2, which makes a distinctive sound before firing a green beam. Know that sound, because you'll want to jump when you hear it. Taking down a Hunter takes a very long time with traditional weapons, but you can take them out with something strong by aiming at the soft, brown, fleshy part between their armor plating. Sticky plasma grenades work very well, too, but your best bet is to circle around and blast their exposed backs.

Brutes: One of the other new enemies in the game, these ape-like creatures are fast, strong, and smart. They all use very powerful weaponry (the Brute Shot and the Brute Plasma Rifle, which fires much faster than the standard one), but won't hesitate to charge you if they drop it. Your best chance to take the Brutes out is to hit them with their own Brute Shot, or hit 'em with a grenade.

General Tactics
Zoom Cancel: When using either of the Sniper Rifles, depending on your controller set up, it takes two clicks to zoom all the way back out from the 10x magnification. Those two clicks are a little cumbersome on your Analog stick, huh? Well there's a faster way. Instead of zooming out of a scoped weapon, double tap Y and it will start the animation to bring up your second gun and then swap to your first gun. Done correctly, you'll never see the second gun and you won't have to bother zooming out again.

Crouch Jumping: A bit tougher in Halo: CE, crouch jumping is the best way to get something extra out of your jump. Click the left stick (or whatever your config uses for crouching) and in mid-air the Chief will lift his legs up and you'll get a little extra distance. Crouch jumping is integral to getting around Bungie's maps.
